Spanish Honors Contract
In order to qualify for Spanish Honors, we were tasked with uploading a video of us answering five questions, then reading an excerpt in Spanish to test our pronounciation.
The questions were:
Keeping in mind that this is my first honors video and that the class began this week, I am pretty proud of the pronounciation done in it. I will need to work on a lot of it of course, but this growth will be demonstrated by the end of the semester.
The video can be viewed below.
The questions were:
- Why is there a need for bilingual citizens?
- How does knowing multiple languages create academic opportunities in high school and higher education?
- What are the social implications for speaking a language other than English in public spaces, i.e. school, work, the grocery store, etc.?
- Are there social incentives to speak more than one language?
- How do you anticipate the work in this class to be meaningful to you?
