1st Semester Reflection
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
Now that I have finished the first semester, I decided to reflect on my Digital Portfolio, though this wasn't a requirement or even mentioned by any of my teachers.
Over the semester I have grown in many ways. I’ve matured in regards to work, I’ve learned many concepts, how to communicate my thoughts better and more effectively, mathematical formulas which were foreign to me before, and I’ve straightened out my organization skills for all of my classes. The physical learning was only a part of the way I grew - The growth I've had this semester took many hours of self thought, hours of comtemplation, hours of hard work, of learning through trial and error, and working with others to find out what worked for me in this learning environment, and what didn’t. In the end, upon realization that I am the only limiter to any amount of success I achieve in my work, I strove above and beyond my normal capacities, and have gorwn as a result of it.
The work I produced this semester was the very best of my effort, most of the time, and I put hours of thought into each art piece, every painting, every historical event, every mathematical equation that we were given or assigned this semester. As a result of this growth, I can confidently say that I go into the next semester with strength that few have - I will not need to relearn how to approach problems next semester, as I've learned this permanently. This only leads to even more growth.
In our modern society, with its infinite distractions - phones, games, life, love, hope, disappointment, one rarely has time to stop and think. I decided awhile ago to stop and think more often- think about words, about quotes, about life, these infinite distractions, hopes and dreams, and I've come to one profound realization.
