Spanish Video I + Reflection
Throughout the Spanish class, we will be making videos to document our progress and growth throughout the course. This is the first of such recordings, and could be considered a 'baseline' to see where I have improved at the end of the course. I wish to reflect on my performance on this video:
As it stands, I seem to have a decent grasp on sentence structure and vocabulary. I remember a lot of phrases and constructs from earlier Spanish courses, and this proved useful in formulating a "script" with my partner for this video. I've definitely shown growth from my first video in the 9th Grade. I think I need to focus more on developing a stronger vocabulary - I noticed that I used a sentence incorrectly, where I ask "que es tu comida americana favorita" as opposed to "Cual es tu comida americana favorita" (What is your favorite food from The United States?). Keeping in mind that this is my first video, however, I can easily put in effort to learn more so as to have more detailed conversations in the future. Practicing at home will show a lot of growth in this regard, and I can communicate with my friends and classmates outside of the classroom to follow up on lessons. Finally, taking notes in class, such as conjugations, has been very useful.
In conclusion, this was a good first video. I am excited to see my growth throughout the semester.
I would like to give a shoutout to my partner for this video and friend, Finn McGarvey, who helped me recall the earlier knowledge I had and who also worked very hard in the making of this first discussion. I wish him success in the rest of the semester's assignments.
